Upper Arm Lift
The best plastic surgery solution for eliminating unsightly, sagging skin on the upper arms is an upper arm lift. This condition is typically caused by certain factors, such as aging, genetics, or weight loss. An upper arm lift is considered a safe, popular cosmetic surgery procedure designed to create beautifully toned, shapely arms.
Get Beautiful Arms
This procedure is usually performed with the patient under general anesthesia, on an outpatient basis. Dr. Henry will begin surgery by making an incision on the inner arm that runs from near the top of the elbow into the armpit. Excess, sagging skin and fatty tissue are then carefully removed, revealing leaner and more slender arms. Following the procedure, the arms will be wrapped or placed in an elastic sleeve in order to reduce swelling. It usually takes about three to four weeks for all swelling and bruising to gradually disappear, and about three to six months for all swelling to completely subside.
The overall healing period usually lasts between 10 and 14 days. Sutures are typically removed within the first two to three weeks, and based on the patient’s skin type and its resiliency, the scars fade in six to 24 months.
An additional cosmetic surgery procedure that may enhance upper arm lift results is liposuction of the upper arm or armpits (axillae).
