Designed to effectively eliminate frown lines and sagging forehead skin and brows, forehead lift surgery can provide an individual with a more youthful and rested appearance in the entire upper region, including the forehead and the upper eyelids.
Eliminate frown lines
Forehead lift incisions typically start near the ear and run across the top of the patient’s head either behind, or at, the hairline. During this procedure, Dr. Henry will lift up and remove the necessary skin. Depending on certain the patient’s individual condition and cosmetic needs, all or part of the forehead muscles will be removed in order to reduce the formation of wrinkles and creases in the future. Stitches or metal clips will be used to close the incisions.
The forehead lift is usually done on an outpatient basis, under IV sedation. After the procedure, the patient goes home with his or her head wrapped in dressings, which may be removed the first or second day following surgery. If the patient experiences initial discomfort he or she can take prescribed oral medication. The majority of swelling and bruising will disappear in about seven to 10 days, and sutures are typically removed in 10 days.
Additional plastic surgery procedures at our San Francisco Bay area centers that may enhance the result of the forehead lift are Lower and/or Upper eyelid lift, facelift, or other facial cosmetic surgery procedures or implants.
